RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN THE HEART OF CADORE
A laboratory of technological innovation and an example of cooperation between public and private institutions, for new territorial development
Saturday, 19th December 2009 saw the official opening of the new MultiPhysicsLab headquarters in Vallesella di Cadore (BL). Designed and built by the Comunità Montana del Centro Cadore (2.5 million euros), it is managed by a temporary association of enterprises, consisting of 10 companies of varying sizes that have banked on technological innovation and networks of knowledge.
The Centre’s objectives include:
- the study and application of multiphysics as a method to optimise productive processes;
- the realisation of research and development projects in the field of renewable energy, ICT and robotics;
- supporting the establishment of new technologically advanced businesses;
- the divulgation of scientific and technological training.
With regards to employment, MultiPhysicsLab strives to offer enterprising young people the opportunity of living in Cadore and here developing an entrepreneurial initiative, guaranteeing them the necessary support in terms of instruments, competence and international relations. Over the next few days, in fact, the first researchers will take possession of the structure, ready to monitor several projects that have already started, thanks to two scholarships financed by the Province of Belluno: the Stirling propulsor, which may be used in the residential sector for the production of energy and a turbine for the exploitation of micro-falls in mountain springs. MultiPhysicsLab offers itself as the ideal interlocutor, a point of reference for situations where a variety of skills are required to study a particular phenomenon or a technological solution. The experience brought by the partners involved in MultiPhysicsLab allows the organisation to supervise any project throughout its cycle: from its design, in response to the needs of the potential customer, to the marketing of the final product. The
MultiPysicsLab offers customers the possibility to introduce innovations in their company and, where the conditions permit, to create new models of business and start new entrepreneurial activities.
